Creamy Moringa Dal (Indian Lentil Curry)

This recipe brings moringa back to its Indian roots. It’s comfort food that actually loves you back.

 

Ingredients:

 

  • 1 cup yellow lentils (dal)
  • 1 teaspoon moringa leaf powder
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander
  • 3 cups water

Instructions:

 

  1. Cook lentils with turmeric and salt until soft
  2. In a separate pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds
  3. Add onions and cook until golden
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste, then tomatoes
  5. Stir in cooked lentils and water
  6. Just before serving, mix in moringa powder
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander

Pro tip:

 

Add moringa powder during the last few minutes of cooking to preserve its nutrients.
